Graduated high school in 2005, then going up to Marquette, Michigan to attend a Northern Michigan University where he graduated with his AS degree in Automotive Technology.
After that fate brought him to West Virginia to work at the Greenbrier and in the hospitality business he worked in for 15 years learning how to setup and build departments in the Food & Beverage department. Had a short stint working at Acura selling/leasing new & used cars while helping his friend build what is known as King’s Eye Escape. That is where he got the bug. Building King’s Eye Escape which first turned from start-up and one escape room that finished with two escape rooms and one axe throwing lounge.
Where he started was back on the farm working with his uncles and his late grandfather Norman Robert Willis, whom he now honors his name in starting this construction company.
His goal and mission is to connect makers, artists, electricians, plumbers, carpenters and jack of all trades to come together to work on one escape room at a time. No job is too big or small we it will just take more makers to make it happen.
He worked at General Motors and in construction, specializing in eaves troughing and siding. Later he moved into rough construction and continued putting on siding. He carried out military contracts on military housing US wide in his later years.
Norm Willis started his construction business in the mid 1950’s. Starting in his 20’s, he began in the construction trade, and he worked up until the time he was in his late seventies. He had a fifty year plus career in construction.
In loving memory of Norman Robert Willis, 1932-2017.
He was married to Irene Willis (artist and seamstress and mother), and they had one child at that time. Eventually they would have five children. He loved his grandson William greatly. He spent a lot of time instructing him in his trade and shared his love of construction which was in his blood. Norm Willis was a tenth-generation contractor and farmer. Now William is the 12th-generation contractor of this family.
Norm Willis was an avid hunter, fisherman – summer and winter avid outdoorsman and loved the woods. He lives on today through the efforts and knowledge of his grandson, in NRWillisconstruction.
